- This Association represents the external wall
insulation industry, initiating and upholding technical and
professional standards. It promotes systems proven in the UK and
experienced specialist installers.
- External wall insulation is used in
refurbishment to clad the outside of solid and defective walls for
thermal insulation and weatherproofing purposes. Around 25% of
heating costs can be saved.
- It is also used as a simple, speedy and
effective new build process, offering a wide range of interesting
and advanced finishes. Building Regulations require a u-value of
0.45W/m²K for the walls, easily achievable with external wall
insulation.
- Professional installer members, trained in this
highly skilled process, are essential. Systems are installed to EWIA
Codes of Practice and British Board of Agrément Certificates
and an industry BBA surveillance scheme is promoted.
- EWIA offers technical and product literature, an
insurance - backed guarantee scheme and Registers of Systems and
installers.
